Neighbors of Alta Vista exists for the benefit of the residents of Alta Vista and will provide enhanced social opportunities for its members. We will also assist with new resident issues. We all went through the same issues within our first year and are willing to share our solutions with new residents. Membership is open to any Alta Vista resident. All our neighbors, full-time residents, snowbirds, and renters are encouraged to participate. Spread the word, include your neighbors who may not have a computer.
Our SunRail Trip to Winter Park on Jan. 23 was a fun trip! Our neighbors enjoyed exploring a variety of interesting shops and lunch at Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, a stylish restaurant with warm, yellow walls, antique hookahs, and a bar. See our photos in the Image Gallery.
A special Shout-Out to our Holiday Decorating Committee for planning, obtaining, and setting up the decorations at our entry monuments. Thank you, Barbara McDonald, Gary Seiffer, Tom Duncan, Mike Lannan, and Ann and Dan Frye. The Jasmine Creek entrance is lit by solar lighting and the Irvine Creek electric connection is donated by Tom and Irene Duncan.
The annual Tour of Holiday Lights went past many of the homes in the Solivita Lights contest ending at Lemon Grove.
Ladies Luncheon - Kathy Gummere did an outstanding job organizing a fabulous Ladies Luncheon at L'incontro in Lake Wales. This little-known Italian restaurant is one of the many hidden gems in the Solivita area. Chef Alex prepared a special menu for the group which highlighted some of the specialties of his establishment. The luncheon was well attended (25 Ladies), and all enjoyed both their meals and the company of their neighbors. Many in attendance agreed L'incontro would be a great place to bring their friends and family.
