Neighbors of Alta Vista exists for the benefit of the residents of Alta Vista and will provide enhanced social opportunities for its members. We will also assist with new resident issues. We all went through the same issues within our first year and are willing to share our solutions with new residents.  Membership is open to any Alta Vista resident. All our neighbors, full-time residents, snowbirds, and renters are encouraged to participate. Spread the word, include your neighbors who may not have a computer.

Holiday Decorating Committee - Let’s welcome the Holiday Decorating Committee: Vivian Aber, Tom Duncan, Gary Seiffer, Barbara McDonald, Ken Wolfe, and Ellen Wolfe. They will be working on December holiday decorations for the neighborhood entry monuments. A separate collection will be taken at the September and October events toward the cost of materials for the decorations.

Bowling & Lunch Alta Vista Neighbors and guests enjoyed 2 hours of Fun, Food, and Friendship on Aug. 1, 2019 at Dundee Lanes, Winter Haven. Thank you, Nancy Heffernan, for making the arrangements for the lanes, pizza, wings, unlimited soda, and shoe rental. Phoros are on the Alta Vista Pictures Gallery.

Flags Over Solivita- A very big THANK YOU to Tom Duncan, Mike Lannan, and Ken Wolfe for their service in placing the flags in Alta Vista. Anyone interested in helping four times a year can contact Tom Duncan, ph: (863 226-2199. The more hands, the faster the work is done.

Ladies Luncheon was held at the Twisted Teapot Tea Room on June 5.  Our ladies enjoyed the wonderful decor, excellent staff and delicious food at this charming establishment.

Pot Luck at The Palms on Saturday, March 2, 2019 was a lot of fun. Neighbors enjoyed swimming, games, food, and compnionship. A big thank you to Sue Schubert and all the Social Activities crew for arranging this pleasurable event. As always, photos are posted in the Alta Vista Pictures Gallery (link at left).

The Alta Vista Book Clubwill meet on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019 at 1PM to discuss The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. RSVP Peggy Batig ph: 863-313-9147, email: pbatig@gmail.com. (No meeting in July.)

There will be no Food Trucks for July and August.

TheSocial Activities Committee will come up with creative activities and events and assist with organizing the events. Get-togethers help everyone make a smoother transition into our new neighborhood and make friends.

The Sunshine Committee will reach out to residents who may live alone, and be responsible for communicating with Alta Vista residents during times of celebration, tragedy and sorrow. If you or your neighbors experience illness, injury, or loss, please notify your Section Leader or the Sunshine Coordinator: Peggy Batig

The Special Projects Committee will be responsible for the implementation and planning of projects that are deemed special by the Alta Vista membership. These projects will be those that improve or enhance the Alta Vista community or its residents.
