 Dear Stonegate Members,

As we move into the month of March, and have many new and exciting events in the upcoming months, one can only reflect on this past week and our Men's Member-Guest two day event. Beginning with the practice rounds on Thursday and the Tournament on Friday and Saturday, the event was flawless. The theme of this years event was Medieval Times.

Claude Eastwood and his team went above and beyond. They conducted an event that you as a Stonegate Member can be very proud of.  As I spoke to many of you and your guests during the event and at the dinner and awards ceremony, it was very refreshing to hear all of the positive comments about the Golf Course conditions, the food service and the sense of pride that you expressed.  We are starting to reach that level that I promised when I first arrived on the scene. While everyone was a winner this weekend, here is a list of prize winners:

On Super Bowl Sunday, we held a putting competition under the lights during the halftime. It was a great turnout that we have decided to create a two-player team tournament that will be held every Wednesday beginning March 13th through April 24th at 5 p.m. This will be a series of 18-hole matches played at match play on the practice green. The format will be a better ball of two with the winners of the match receiving 2 points. In the event there is a tie, the teams with the ties will receive 1 point and on the 7th week of the final match the top two teams with the most points will playoff for the championship. The entry fee is $35 per team, there will be daily winners and overall winners at the completion of the tournament. We will also have weekly specials for the participants at the Grille during the series. If you are interested in participating, please sign up at the Golf Shop by Sunday, March 10th.

Last November and December, we held complimentary clinics that were very well attended. As Golf Professionals, it is very rewarding to share our knowledge of the game with you and see the improvements in your golf game, so by popular demand we will have clinics in March and April. Please be on the lookout in the weekly updates for more information.

On Monday, February 4th we hosted an Italian cooking demonstration.  It was originally scheduled to be held at Mosaics which accommodates 75 people, but because of the overwhelming response we ended up selling out at 220 people! Chef Massimo, Chef Dino and our visiting Chefs from Abruzzo, Italy were great in sharing some of their cultures and culinary skills. The evening went rather quickly as everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I would like to take a moment to say thank you to our F&B Director, Chris Green and his team, Executive Chef Adam, Megan Bell, Jillian Rose, Betsy Chacon and their teams for making it such a memorable night. Lastly, thank you to Bill Sansone, who brought this idea to the F&B Advisory Committee and was so passionate about this project and to Wayne Hamilton.

 Best regards,

George Sauer, General Manager
